At least they aren’t debating yogurt on the federal level. But this is disappointing. Nice to know that anyone who buys a house can refinance at the insanely low interest rates we have now, but the government insists on a higher interest rate. Meanwhile, I’m paying a higher percentage than the TARP program loans paid in interest.

United Federation of Teachers President Michael Mulgrew said Monday that the current system is unfair to minority students who deserve to attend Stuyvesant, Bronx Science, Brooklyn Tech and five other specialized high schools.

I went to Bronx Science. I recall a good amount of diversity. But, I agree an SAT like test is not necessarily the best way to admit people to a school. Wonder if I’d have gotten in if that were the only factor.

The Toronto Public Library was asked to pull copies of "Hop on Pop" by Dr. Seuss because it "encouraged children to use violence against their fathers."

I really hope the person who submitted this to the Toronto Library was joking.
