Why don’t people wear hats outdoors anymore in large numbers? In the past, it was considered inappropriate to go bareheaded in some contexts.

  1. @dshanske I have a Tilley hat I wear all spring and summer, and I’m always surprised how hot and sun-beating the weather can get and I’ll still be the only person in an outdoor group wearing a hat. (In winter, I wear one of my many handmade wool hats, and I see many more hats in the wild.)
